LGBTQ Resources: Research Databases


EBSCOHost Academic Search Complete and its specialized databases offer full-text articles from peer-reviewed journals, popular magazines, and newspapers.

There are several main topics available from this database: LGBTQ ParentsLGBTQ Rights and Military Service, and LGBTQ Rights and State Laws

Enter some search terms into the Jstor search box; then, pay close attention to the hyperlinked "Topics" that are used to categorize the items that you have found useful. Clicking on a topic will take you a page where you can continue to find more relevant articles and books on the topic you've chosen.

The New York Times has an useful search feature at the top left of their pages; enter your search terms related to your research to retrieve relevant articles.


Choose the "Browse People" link ("light bulb icon" near the top right side of the database home page); then using the "Topics" drop-down menu that appears on the left side, select "LGBTQ Figures."

You may also search for biographies by entering the individual's name in the search box on the main page of the database.
